The position is part of the Entertainment Brand Solutions group – a part of Disney Advertising Sales, an integrated cross-platform national advertising sales and marketing organization within the Disney Entertainment Television (DET) business segment that includes Disney+, Hulu, Disney Channels, ABC, ABC Owned Television Stations, Freeform, FX, Nat Geo, ESPN and Disney Digital. 

Job Summary:

Disney Advertising Sales is seeking a Senior Manager to report into Director Entertainment Brand Solutions. The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing strategic advertiser driven cross-platform solutions (both proactively and in response to RFPs) and project management across Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC Unscripted Series across ABC, Hulu and Disney+. This role is based in Los Angeles, California.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

Innovate, strategize, and manage development of multiplatform ABC Unscripted Series and Jimmy Kimmel Live solutions. Will have strategic expertise in the creation, packaging and distribution of creative solutions in an evolving marketplace. Will lead the development of linear, social, and streaming led opportunities associated with ABC Unscripted Series and Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as new models that drive revenue across all of our content distribution points. Will serve as the senior lead on Jimmy Kimmel Live for all internal and external communications.

  • Responsible for leading strategy for all client partnerships on Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as partnership execution and developing creative solutions with JKL Producers
  • Responsible for idea generation and leading brainstorms with key stakeholders from across different internal departments such as Network marketing, Disney CreativeWorks creative studio, and producing partners.
  • Responsible for creating all client-facing pitch materials that detail sponsorship opportunities (customized and market-wide).
  • Guide and build consensus among key stakeholders to obtain approval on creative ideas (Management, Legal, S&P, PR, Business Affairs, Studios, Producers, etc.)
  • Field incoming RFPs, developing smart, strategic solutions in collaboration with Client Connect and Disney CreativeWorks.
  • Present and pitch ideas in client meetings for Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC Unscripted Series (as necessary)
  • Facilitate deal negotiation.
    • Work to streamline conversations between sales, Client Connect, RYM, Ad Ops and Pricing, and Social Center of Excellence to approve deal structure between the different stakeholders and client.  Provide strategic solutions between stakeholders during the deal negotiation.
    • Work alongside Business Affairs and Legal to negotiate and confirm talent contracts and participation within integration and custom content campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Director to align on proactive sponsorship strategies for ABC Unscripted Series and work closely with relevant network/producing partners to identify priorities.
  • Lead package opportunities that drive multi-million dollar revenue goals and be ready to pivot as marketplace needs change.
  • Develop proactive go to market decks that include cross-platform solutions that align with the ABC Unscripted Series and Jimmy Kimmel Live editorial/marketing efforts
  • Partner with research to develop key research/ratings story.
  • Responsible for understanding multi-cultural initiatives as they evolve in the marketplace and creating solutions that will champion an advertiser and/or the Show/Networks’ multi-cultural network initiatives.
  • Oversee Coordinator on all project related documentation: deal agreement letters, budget management, billing, research etc.

Lead client facing activation process including creation of project timelines, approvals, production shoots, post-production, etc. across ABC Unscripted Series and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

  • Lead kick-off calls with client-facing materials and agenda both internally and externally. 
  • Facilitate creative approvals between client and several different internal stakeholders including CreativeWorks, Legal, and S&P, etc. and Studio/Producing partners.
  • Manage on-set shoots – routing script delivery between internal and external stakeholders; client hosting; problem solving; balance platform, show, content, and client creative needs etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring project elements are delivering across all platforms between Social/RYM, Promo Marketing Teams and Production teams.
  • Oversee all post-production to ensure content launches properly on linear, streaming, and social platforms.
  • Track revenue and profitability of campaigns
  • Oversee creation of case studies, deal recaps and research.
    • Work alongside sales to ensure the program deliverables have been tracked with insight and research teams for linear, streaming and social assets.
    • Help facilitate conversations with sales at the beginning and end of a campaign to ensure measurement success factors are agreed upon with research teams. 
    • Assist in presenting deal recaps and research to client alongside sales and research team to discuss the success of each campaign with the goal to discuss
    • campaign renewals.

Serve as key contributor to the Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC Unscripted Series, Entertainment Brand Solutions team who serve as experts across ABC. Including but not limited to:

  • Knowledge of Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC Unscripted Series IP and processes
  • Gather information and updates from key parties related to each show (i.e., producing partners, internal ABC stakeholders) to ensure team members have the latest information.
  • Maintaining show and department related documentation: budget management, department status reports, revenue and pitch trackers, case studies, research, competitive analysis, etc.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Legal, BS&P, Programming, PR, Sales, Creative, etc.) and serve as resource for Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC Unscripted Series related projects.

Serve as a Jimmy Kimmel Live brand champion and content expert for external partners and internal Disney Advertising cross-portfolio colleagues. Help drive strategy and revenue performance for Jimmy Kimmel Live by maximizing partnership opportunities.

Manage select ABC Unscripted Series and all Jimmy Kimmel Live related documentation and processes: project budget management, commercial inventory reserve, added value requests, department status reports, case studies, research, competitive analysis, etc.

Build and maintain strong relationships with Studio/Producing Partners for assigned ABC Unscripted Series and Jimmy Kimmel Live partners and all internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Legal, S&P, Programming, PR, Sales, etc.).

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of television and/or digital marketing, sponsorship, promotion, branded entertainment and/or media at a network, cable, streamer, promotional/media agency or entertainment studio, with 1+ year managing a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills (especially in high stress environments)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to translate verbal ideas into written presentations
  • Highly organized, creative problem solver, solutions-oriented
  • Ability to keep abreast of digital/social industry innovations, bringing new opportunities forward
  • Self-motivated and independent, proactive and flexible
  • Expertise in project management/execution, attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience with sponsored social activations
  • Proven team player with the desire to do whatever it takes and thrives in a team culture
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, mornings, weekends and/or occasional travel
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Keynote, Google Docs/Sheets, Airtable, SalesForce
  • Experience with deck creation through PowerPoint and Keynote

The hiring range for this position based in Santa Monica, CA is $124,900.00-$167,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
