Disney’s Data Product Management team guides the strategy and vision for Disney’s incredible global digital products portfolio - from Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and the ESPN App to Marvel Unlimited, National Geographic, ABC and ABC News, and film websites and games. This team impacts the way millions of people around the world experience and engage with Disney’s iconic stories and unmatched content in more personalized and immersive ways, leveraging cutting-edge technologies ranging from Machine Learning to Extended Reality.
We are seeking a Product Manager to join our team, and this role will be pivotal in building and maintaining data products that are responsible for landing, processing, and aggregating data related to user sessions and media playback. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, product development, and a keen understanding of data governance and privacy.
Responsibilities
Oversee the vision, strategy, and technical roadmap for Disney’s Media and Session Data and the associated tooling supporting Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology’s digital properties.
Build strategic relationships with key business, analytics, and technology leaders to ensure program and product success.
Partner with stakeholders to develop detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures tied to the Data Platform’s OKRs.
Partner with Data governance and Privacy teams to ensure that data is processed in compliance with relevant regulations and policies and help make sure data is accessible only to those with valid use cases.
Implement mechanisms to ensure the highest data quality. Develop and enforce standards and best practices for data management and quality control.
Support the delivery team throughout the agile product development lifecycle, ensuring timely releases, excellent communication with partners and stakeholders, and well-thought-out delivery planning.
Build strong relationships with technical partners to ensure consistent delivery and tight alignment on evolving technical solutions.
Drive teams on all business readiness activities, including product planning, sequencing, testing, user education, rollout communications, iteration, and ongoing support.
Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key blockers, and establish appropriate resolution paths while communicating trade-offs with stakeholders if needed.
Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, performing as an adaptive problem solver.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data management and product development.
Champion a collaborative work environment that cultivates shared understanding, transparency, autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of product management or relevant technical experience in a data driven product delivery organization.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; and/or relevant work experience
Proven track record of successful agile product delivery, working with a cross-functional delivery team in a global or highly complex organization.
Polished communicator comfortable translating stakeholder needs into well-documented technical specifications.
Planning acumen and strong ability to break down work and define iterative product release versions.
Understanding of big data, data modeling and how to deliver results for the purpose of making timely and accurate business decisions.
Highly analytical and collaborative qualities with strong technical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to balance competing priorities and make informed decisions in ambiguous situations.
Ability to lead through influence across functional and organizational lines.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment where change is the norm.
Experience presenting to and working with senior executive leaders.
Knowledge of Agile/SDLC project management methodologies, with an understanding of data engineering, data modeling, data warehousing and big data platforms.
Experience in Agile software development with expertise in Scrum methodology and practices.
High-level of comfort building a roadmap and working within an agile, Jira-driven operating model.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; and/or related certification/s
Experience in a data product/data engineering organization building complex data applications for an enterprise organization.
In-depth technical experience with modern data warehouses, data lakes, databases, with an understanding of the pros/cons of different data models and warehouse approaches.

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $120,300 - $161,300 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $125,800 - $168,700 per year, in Santa Monica, CA is $114,900 - $154,100 per year, and in New York, NY is $120,300 - $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
