About the Role & Team

Disney+ is The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer video entertainment service, offering premium branded content alongside a broad general entertainment library, appealing to families and adults alike. The service consists of long form and short form video built around six key content brands (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star) with an appealing and easy to use interface accessed across multiple platforms (e.g. smart TVs, mobile devices).  

The Disney+ team in EMEA is responsible for the ongoing performance, operations and growth of Disney+ across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, focusing on marketing, customer acquisition and retention, partnerships and synergy, content programming, research and analytics. 

We’re seeking an Analyst to join our Disney+ Analytics & Insights EMEA team, based in London. Working as part of the Content Analytics team, this role will be focused on building and delivering high quality reporting on content performance and customer engagement, helping to embed the understanding of content performance KPIs across the EMEA DTC business. The Analyst will also contribute to the delivery of timely insights to inform initiatives across Disney+ EMEA, utilising our vast wealth of data to discover opportunities to optimise our content proposition to best meet the needs of our customers. The team focuses on all aspects of engagement with the service, including performance of key titles, engagement with the Disney+ catalogue, content merchandising and engagement with new and existing product features. 

The role will deliver best-in-class analysis of our content and product performance, and leverage top class analytical skills, excellent communication skills, laser-sharp attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and support needs of business stakeholders. 

What You Will Do

  • Deliver timely reporting and analysis to support the Content Programming, Merchandising, Marketing and Product teams in EMEA in order to gain a deep understanding of content performance 

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations to monitor key metrics and provide regular updates on content and engagement performance to stakeholders 

  • Present crystal clear results with insights, related implications and actions to a variety of stakeholders 

  • Support training of teams to adopt self-serve and interpret data insights, encouraging a data-led decision-making mindset 

  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and creating new ones, acknowledging opportunities when automatable scalable solutions are required and when one off analytics is best placed 

  • Develop relationships across the Analytics and business teams at regional and local level, in particular the Programming team, as well as with Analytics teams internationally to align on key priorities and targets 

  • Closely manage requests coming through, liaising with stakeholders to deliver analysis in a timely, impactful manner 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience as a Data Analyst 

  • Demonstrable experience using SQL

  • Python/R or other statistical programming language experience a plus 

  • Experience in data visualisation and dashboard development (we primarily use Looker) 

  • Background in Content, Marketing or Product Analytics in the digital or entertainment space is a plus 

  • An analytical mindset, with ability to QA others’ work and ensure consistent and robust work is delivered, being able to draw on the wide range of analytical tools and types of insight available 

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences 

  • A demonstrated history of translating complex data sets into clear and actionable stories 

  • Flexibility in approach, using creative solutions in designing analysis where necessary 

  • Agility to handle evolving demands 

  • Ability to work autonomously, handling multiple projects and hitting key deadlines 

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to manage and prioritise tasks independently, taking initiative to implement solutions 

  • Positive and collaborative with an enthusiastic attitude; passionate about being a team player 

  • Consistently strong levels of attention to detail 

  • Confident in troubleshooting and problem-solving to identify, diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
