As Communications Director for DCP EMEA, you will lead the communications function across the region—covering PR, internal communications, executive engagement, issues management and B2B communications. You will partner closely across The Walt Disney Company to unlock synergy on key campaigns and collaborate with integrated marketing/promotions to amplify impact. This role manages a team of 4–5 based in London and across the region.

This position reports to the SVP, Disney Consumer Products EMEA and will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week, with 1 day a week working from home.

Our Vision
Our ambition is boundless. EMEA will be the best‑in‑class region in the transformation of the Global DCP business. Execution of strategic initiatives laddering to our Global Playbooks will fuel our growth, significantly outpacing the industry and our competitors. We will prioritise our team and culture, operating as a unified and incredible force, creating an environment where we can all thrive.

Our Mission
We will exceed expectations in our execution, always raising the bar as we innovate our approach. We will operate with a commitment to excellence and embed the value of collaboration. Our diversely talented team will relentlessly drive efforts to ensure all EMEA consumers find happiness every day in DCP products and retail experiences.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary communications partner for DCP leadership in EMEA and the main liaison with global and in‑market communications teams.

  • Develop long‑term, insight‑led communication strategies tied to business priorities; support markets on issues and stakeholder communication.

  • Ensure campaigns are leveraged with B2B audiences to maximise commercial value; prioritise activations across EMEA and the UK.

  • Create 12–18 month strategic plans and toolkits for markets, with clear target audiences, KPIs and budget guidance; lead reporting and analysis across local, regional and global activity.

  • Provide executive support across presentations, speech writing, internal messaging and profile development; keep leaders informed on coverage, potential issues and competitor activity.

  • Oversee an inclusive, robust internal communications programme (e.g., Town Halls, internal platform content) in partnership with regional teams.

  • Lead issues management and corporate communications: develop messaging, internal announcements and press statements; coordinate cross‑functional responses for product recall or IP leak scenarios; monitor sentiment and guide proactive troubleshooting.

  • Co‑create annual strategic communications plans aligned to segment AOPs; partner with commercialisation, marketing and category leadership to identify growth areas and build innovative campaigns.

  • Own budget planning and tracking; set campaign KPIs and ensure creative strategies meet business objectives; align planning cycles across markets and share timely plans.

  • Lead campaign delivery: strategic media engagement, approval of all media materials, senior journalist relationship management, PR event oversight, and third‑party agency briefing, pitching and performance management.

  • Model Disney culture—operate with integrity, champion change, collaborate across TWDC, and mentor a high‑performing PR team to deliver earned media and social buzz across the region.

Experience & Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Significant communications leadership experience within a blue‑chip brand‑led organisation and/or PR firm.

  • Proven track record delivering internal communications programmes and supporting executive profiles (speechwriting, media training, etc.).

  • Deep understanding of the global media landscape and strong media strategy skills; outstanding network of media contacts across Europe (trade and consumer).

  • Experience leading and developing diverse teams.

Competencies

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills; disciplined organisation and attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritise multiple projects, execute at pace and maintain focus on commercial goals.

  • Resourceful, adaptable and thrives in a fast‑paced, evolving environment; strong influence skills within a matrixed organisation.

  • Creative spark and strategic vision to devise and deliver compelling communication strategies with measurable impact.

  • High level of professionalism, maturity and business savvy; flexibility for occasional UK, European or international travel as required.

  • Willingness to contribute to ad‑hoc projects and flex hours to meet business needs.
