Descrição do cargo:

This is a diverse and dynamic role within the SAMENA Publishing Business unit to actively implement the commercial framework for our rapidly growing region in Southeast Asia (with focus in Indonesia) to ensure the continual long term business success of the territory.

The role requires the candidate to drive the market expansion roadmap and increase the winning rate of new business pipelines for Southeast Asia Publishing business across 3 major categories of Print, Digital Experiences and Learning. The candidate shall set market development propositions across both physical and digital space within the Publishing domain to ensure set targets are met as per overall SAMENA business expectations.

Supporting the Senior Manager for SAMENA Publishing, the successful candidate is expected to develop strong licensing opportunities within the assigned markets and to lead initiatives to accelerate the achievement of the regions’ fast growing potential.

Responsibilities:

Commercial

  • Lead and achieve both categories and franchises commercial targets

  • Negotiate forecasting outcomes with partners and aligning their targets with the BU’s growth expectations

  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with key partners to ensure achievements of business goals

  • Prepare accurate forecasts, business plans, business reviews, pitch decks to potential partners and other presentations as required

  • Assist SAMENA Senior Manager in preparing and setting the Southeast Asia specific strategic objectives for Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 5 years Business Plan (FYP)

Contracts

  • Contract negotiations with new and existing partners to ensure optimium commercial outcome

  • Work with cross-functional team including Brand, Marketing and Legal to ensure all contracts are written in strict compliance to company’s policies

  • Ensure contract follow through and end-to-end fulfilment by working with Licensee and Publishing’s Operation team to deliver content/ product development on time and in coherent with contractual rights and agreements

  • Negotiate Publishing opportunities with global partners that yield the best business results for the assigned markets

Retail

  • Collaborate with markets’ CPGP Marketing & Direct-to-Retail team to optimised sales opportunities in cross-category programs in both digital and physical event executions

  • Build strong in-market Publishing category retail presence with partners both on and offline

Promotions & Marketing

  • Plan marketing and sales promotional programs in line with the overall SAMENA marketing calendar and see to its execution effectively to maximise sell-through

Product Development

  • Work with Operation team to ensure publishing approvals are in line with Disney Publishing Worldwide requirements and respective licensee contracts

  • Ensure licensee’s product development pipeline is in line with overall Publishing strategy and ensure it alignment to broader business priorities

  • Actively sought and propose new product opportunities or one-off initiatives that matches prevailing consumer trends and market demand

  • Execute the commercial plans and contractual work required to deliver these new business

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Marketing

  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen

  • Good understanding of Southeast Asia business culture and know the way of commerce in the regions

  • Proven track records leading commercial success within Southeast Asia territory

  • Good knowledge of business and financial concepts

  • Independent and self-directed achiever but is also a good team player

  • Good understanding of licensing business and retail environments

  • Prior experience in Publishing (traditional or digital) or related industry will be an advantage

  • Conversant and proficiency in working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia will be an advantage

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word)

  • Strong verbal/ written communication and presentation skills

  • Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills

  • Large corporate environment experience, understand the dynamics of matrix organization

  • Excellent collaboration skills at all levels with internal and external stakeholders
