About the Role & Program:
ABC7 (WLS-TV) Chicago is the Midwest flagship of the ABC Television Network and the #1 source for news and storytelling in Chicago. This internship offers the unique opportunity to work directly with 3x Emmy-winning journalist Jasmine Minor, assisting in growing her personal brand presence across social media platforms and amplifying the reach of community impact stories. The position is based in downtown Chicago at ABC7’s studios in The Loop.
What You Will Do:
We are looking for a creative, driven, and strategic content creator intern passionate about storytelling, social media trends, and digital growth. This internship is for someone who lives and breathes social media — someone who knows how to turn meaningful moments into shareable stories and who’s excited to help build an online community around empowerment, storytelling, and purpose.
On any given day you might:
- Brainstorming, filming, and editing short-form video content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Planning and executing monthly content calendars aligned with brand themes such as community, legacy, empowerment, and storytelling.
- Researching and identifying emerging trends, sounds, and hashtags to boost reach and engagement.
- Designing social media graphics, captions, and storytelling series.
- Managing engagement through comments, DMs, and tagging, while identifying audience insights and growth opportunities.
- Capturing behind-the-scenes content during interviews, events, and shoots, and analyzing post performance to optimize strategy.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficient in using video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or Final Cut Pro.
- Experience creating content using tools like Canva, Lightroom, or Photoshop.
- Demonstrated ability to write, communicate, and organize effectively.
- Previous experience in creating engaging content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts.
- Strong understanding of current social media platforms and trends.
- Ability to work both collaboratively in teams and independently on projects
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Fully available from January 2026 through June 2026
- Fully available for the duration of the internship, 18 hours each week
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Chicago, Illinois area
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work Chicago, Illinois area

The pay rate for this role in Illinois is $18.00 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
