The Walt Disney Company's Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) is a new, global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly evolving consumer habits. Combining the Company's direct-to-consumer streaming services – ESPN+, the Disney+ streaming service and its ownership stake in Hulu -- alongside Disney's international media businesses, DMED aligns cutting-edge technology with world-class content and beloved brands to expand the Company's global footprint and deliver highly-personalized entertainment experiences to diverse consumers around the world.

The Category Solutions Director will provide expertise, strategy and consultation to media clients across a given advertising vertical and partner with category sales leadership to set a revenue driven sales strategy. As a strategic entity in the Disney Ad Sales organization within DMED, the Category Solutions team will work to ensure that DAS is well positioned to meet the Company’s long term goals and our Clients’ business needs.

Responsabilidades:

The role requires experience in both identifying and solving for challenging issues in multiple business categories, marketing, and media today. An understanding of consumers’ evolving media and purchasing behaviors, industry measurement solutions, changes in the competitive landscape and the increased focus on data driven solutions and audience-based buying is critical.

Given the rapid changes in the media marketplace, this role will be central to enhancing and broadening the DAS value proposition to advertisers and agencies. The ability to think strategically, communicate well, lead, build consensus, work in a fluid environment, and—most importantly—deliver results will define success.

Additionally, the Director will:
  • Create a strategic vision and set specific and measureable tactics, actions and outcomes both for the immediate and long-term future, with the goal of fostering category growth
  • Anticipate emerging trends and potential disruption, and deliver new approaches based on implications on the category
  • Translate complex insights and data into easily understood and actionable messaging for internal and external consumption
  • Expertly navigate and collaborate in a matrix structure and leverage resources across the enterprise to achieve objectives
  • Actively contribute to creating an inclusive environment

Qualificações básicas:

  • 10 years of experience in advertising, media and/or marketing and in the given category preferred
    • Media experience at an agency or client-side or experience with a sales development/strategy role at a media company
    • Multi-platform media planning, buying, strategy and measurement with a strong background in addressable and data driven solutions
  • Have curiosity and passion for creating innovative solutions rooted in consumer and category insights
  • Self-starter that takes initiative and is able to navigate without constant direction
  • Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in a faced paced environment of tight deadlines and constant change
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion for The Walt Disney Company, its content, and the advertising landscape
