Job Overview
The Director, Human Resources will serve as a strategic leader for all business groups in India. She will lead the India HR team that services Mumbai and Bangalore supporting DE, DEx, corporate groups and the Technology Center, Bangalore. The ideal candidate must have relevant Technology HR experience, deep people leadership experience, strong business acumen and significant Human Resource (HR) functional knowledge to guide the development of HR strategies that will attract, develop and retain the breadth of talent required to drive business transformation and success.
This position requires an individual that can assess business situations as well as identify and implement the appropriate business, organization and / or people strategy solutions. Anticipating trends, making pro-active recommendations, being highly influential and advocating workplace inclusion and good employee relations are critical components to the role. The Director of Human Resources works closely with HR functional teams to drive, integrate, and implement HR strategies that enable the business by creating a culture of optimism, openness and teamwork. This leader also participates on senior executive committees, interfaces with relevant external agencies and partners. He/she is responsible for developing a strategic roadmap that aligns business strategy with HR goals and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategy for the Technology Center, supporting the goals and growth objectives of the TWDC Technology Center (aligning to global / regional TWDC Technology objectives and goals, as required).
- Serve as partner and trusted adviser to the Technology Center Leadership Team and other senior leaders in India.
- Develop, implement and integrate all human resource policies and programs
- Hire and develop team members in key human resources areas: Talent Acquisition, Organization & Talent Solutions, HR Business Partners, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations and HR Operations.
- Responsible for people initiatives that involve significant complexity and require deep HRBP and organizational transformation experience, including the ability to consult, coach and influence senior executives, lead complex change management projects and collaboratively partner at all levels, including local/regional/global stakeholders.
- Manage and lead the HR organization in India to include HR development and keep the team highly engaged. Encourage diversity of thought, ongoing development of HR team capabilities and individual talent management. Ensure HR team members are positioned as credible, proactive and trusted partners across the business.
- Partner closely with the VP, HR (APAC), APAC COEs and Segment HR to deploy and implement global and regional HR strategies and initiatives at a local level. Advise, coach and support local COE team members on the implementation of global/regional projects; maintain collaborative relationships with regional/global partners and share and leverage best practices.
- Maintain and implement compelling and engaging compensation and benefits programs (in partnership with regional C&B lead).
- Drive talent attraction and engagement ensuring talent acquisition COE team members deliver through overseeing effective employer brand marketing campaigns; implementing talent acquisition initiatives to attract diverse technology talent; improved candidate and line management experience; and effective contingent labour practices.
- Oversee local Global HR Operations team and ensure practices aligned to local needs; coach and advise team members on specific India requirements and projects.
- Manage the headcount reporting and Cast Member Relations budget across India, working closely with the Head of Finance. Manage headcount reporting processes during AOP and LRP processes and ongoing HC/budget management movements throughout the year
- Ensure TWDC employment systems, policies and processes are compliant with all local Employment legislation, awards and laws. Closely monitor employment law changes and updates, working closely with internal (and external) legal partners on policy and process reviews and leader/employee education.
- Drive employee engagement through the delivery of effective Cast Member engagement programs, working in close partnership with Internal Communications teams. Lead global, regional and local initiatives, leveraging feedback data from Cast Member surveys as relevant.
- Responsible for senior-level decision making and both day-to-day management and strategic direction of the organization
- Develop and implement an annual roadmap for HR strategy, in line with the business plan. Ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organization, as and when they occur
- Work across diverse lines of business to support HR work and coach executives on people strategies aligned with their business goals.
- Work closely with Corporate Global Security teams on Crisis Management Planning and actively participate in Crisis Management prevention planning and incident management for the Technology Center. Provide on the ground crisis management/care team support for India.
Required Qualifications:
- 12 + Years of HR leadership role in a dynamic, multi-national and matrixed environment.
- Experience in a Technology company based in India is preferred
- Track record of successfully implementing and managing best practice HR strategy, processes and systems.
- Strong knowledge and experience with HR Business Partner (generalist), Talent Acquisition/Planning, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Change Management, and Diversity & Inclusion functions
- Broad business and financial understanding and the ability to apply to human capital implications
- Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business/financial data and develop innovative and holistic HR solutions
- Resilience to work within a complex organization and find creative solutions
- Willingness to work and integrate with multiple partners and manage simultaneous priorities
- Strong executive consulting and client relationship skills
- Proven collaboration skills with the ability to gain consensus through personal influence
- Proven ability to manage conflict and the courage to challenge organizational thinking
- Demonstrated ability to invite diverse perspectives, and promote an inclusive work environment
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Act as a role model for the organization and source of knowledge.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/ Employment Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience gained within an international, matrixed organization).
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources/ Employment Relations (or related field), highly regarded
